Who wouldn’t appreciate a scoop of a refreshing ice cream on these hot summer days?🍦
I’m really interested in substituting junk food with healthy alternatives and this is how I got to the idea of making my own homemade ice cream. The first one was a strawberry sorbet, which turned out delicious and you wouldn’t believe that there is not even a pinch of sugar in it😯 It consists just of 3 ingredients – strawberries, yoghurt and honey.
INGREDIENTS (1 ice cream box):
- cca. 400g strawberries (4 cups)
- 2-3 tbsp greek yoghurt
- 1 tbsp honey
Cut strawberries into small pieces and place them in a box. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
After that, throw the strawberries into a blender, add yoghurt and honey and blend. Wait until you reach smooth creamy consistency. You will probably need to stop the blender and stir the ingredients from time to time. Be patient and make sure there are no tiny frozen chunks.
If you wish, you can eat it immediately but I recommend transfering the ice cream into a container (an ice cream box) and refrigerating it even for 2 hours to firm up. Serve with coconut flakes and fresh strawberry slices (If you have any other ideas for toppings, don’t hesitate to share them in the comments!).
I can’t wait to try making different flavours. I would like to give a peanut butter and cocoa flavours a go. Do you have any experience with them?☺
